he Rideau Roundtable is an incorporated, not-for-profit, association of individuals, community organizations and government agencies that focuses on the environment, the history and the cultural significance of the Rideau River, the Rideau Canal Waterway, the Cataraqui River and their respective watersheds.
Our two main on-going projects are the Rideau Experience program and our Rideau Roundtable speaker series.
The Rideau Experience program (Or REX) uses interpreted voyageur canoe outings to explore the environmental, historical and cultural treasures of the Rideau. These tours are aimed at schools, families, and community and business groups and are a great way to see this unique National and UNESCO heritage site from a different perspective.
The Rideau Roundtable speaker series takes-on issues of current and on-going interest to users of these waterways, providing expert speakers and panelists.
