One of Ontario’s oldest brewpubs, established in 1986, Kingston Brewing Company is Canada’s oldest wine-producing pub. You can take in the awesome brew-themed decor and may have a hard time choosing just one of their many bubbly beers available. Try out their White Tail Lagered Ale, or sip on the Cran-apple Cider and top it all off with a mouthwatering lamb burger to really make a memorable experience.
Sometimes getting a little fancy makes you feel special, so grab your pals and head over to San Tur Brewery for a full upscale brewery experience. Enjoy charcuterie boards, Portuguese sandwiches or Piri Piri chicken and pair it perfectly with their incredible IPA’s and Red Ale brewed in-house.
A great place to bring the entire family for a nice bonding experience. For beer lovers, try their MBC Kolsch Ale, and drink in a nice light fruity taste with a surprisingly spicy finish. For the foodies, you won’t go wrong pairing your beer with their classic burger and famous fries.
Located just down the road from the beautiful Lake on the Mountain Resort, where tourists come from all over Canada to enjoy the secluded beauty of nature as well as to celebrate love and family. Twelve years ago, Lake on the Mountain began a small brewery on site that was so well received it has now moved down the road and grown into a manufacturing site, bottle shop, beer garden and taproom.
One of the first craft breweries to bless the grounds of Prince Edward County, Barley Days continues to impress and grow with its flavours every year. Extremely friendly staff welcome you to spend some time in the taproom tasting the variety of beers available on tap, brewed right on site. Be sure to check out their sister company Clafeld Cidery!
Considering itself a playground for adults, Prince Eddy’s hits the mark with their two story tasting room, overlooking the brewhouse. Step outside with your C.R.E.A.M. ale onto the newly added patio, challenge a friend to a game of beach volleyball and then sit back to enjoy some live music at the end of the night.
Your go-to spot for unique ciders! Try the Abracadabra, which is tart with floral notes, and a dry finish. Bonus, it’s also a pretty lavender colour.
Established as a producer of local favourite Horntrip Juniper Pale Ale, which was available at local bars and breweries in the county, Strange Brewing is a force to be reckoned with. Now open to the public, stop by to their tasting room for a chat with the owner Dave and grab a few growlers to go on your way home.
Discover Newcomers On The Craft Brewing And Distilling Scene
The summer of 2019 is set to honour the new kids on the block when it comes to craft brewing and distilling. With numerous new breweries and cideries set to swing open their doors in Prince Edward County, new brew tastings will be the thirst quenchers of the summer.
Fresh to Prince Edward County is the Gillingham Brewing Company, which offers up a Pale Ale 25 which is a hybrid of American and British Ales. As well as a Hopped Wheat that promises for fruity twists including passion fruit and banana.
It’s all about the apples. This brand new, orchard-based, small batch cidery makes high-quality traditional cider that pays homage to the owners and the area. Settlers Cider Company recently opened a tasting room, featuring glasses of their 2017 blends (Farmhouse, Golden Russet & Pommeau). Look here for cider cocktails, too, which vary each week!
This is a premium farm to table cider on a 23-acre property complete with a tasting room and a gorgeous old stone house. Crimson Ciders are blended with Ontario apples and a portion of Crimson Crisp juice to give them a signature flavour. You won’t find added sugars or sweeteners here – they craft and produce in a dry style. Stop by to try the unique Crimson taste!
Opening soon in Bloomfield is this modern farmhouse brewery producing county terroir with elegant farmhouse ale, aromatic IPAs and lagers. With two beers on tap, the aromatic and well-balanced medium Janky IPA, as well as Yeasayer Lagerbier which is hailed as no-nonsense lager with a light hop accent and balanced malt character – there’s a lot to love in each glass.
Known nationally for its delicious beer and amazing views, Westport Brewing Company is easily one of the best date night spots in the area. Located in the heart of Westport, entirely surrounded by the lakeside of the Rideau, you can taste their locally-sourced, small-batch beer and pair it with a lovely meal such as their scrumptious Montreal smoked meat sandwich.
